Ronseal Total Wood Preserver is a general purpose preserver that has been specially formulated to kill woodworm and prevent rot and decay. It is an ideal pre-treatment for interior and exterior wood and suitable for overpainting. Perfect to use on rough or smooth timber. Coloured preservers are made for outdoors and will colour and protect in all weather. The clear wood preserver does not waterproof and is made for preserving indoor wood. Before You Start: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free from surface coatings such as paint, varnish or stain etc. Where timbers are suffering from decay, before applying Ronseal Total Wood Preserver, remove all decayed wood and replace with sound, treated timber. Cut out and burn all decayed wood at least 45cm beyond the area of damage. Application: Shake well before use. Ronseal Total Wood Preserver can be applied by brush, spray or dipping. If applying by spray use a coarse spray and avoid misting. Note that Ronseal Total Wood Preserver is not compatible with Ronseal Sprayers. Where possible end grains should be treated by dipping to ensure complete penetration. Apply a minimum of 2 coats, covering all faces, sides and joints, paying particular attention to the end grain. The second coat should be applied after 24 hours. When second coat is dry, repairs and gluing can be carried out. Avoid contact with bitumen, bitumen felt or mastics and plastics.
