Rolson 58409 Bow Saw, 21-inch

The bow saw is a metal framed saw in the shape of a bow which has a coarse wide blade. This type of saw is also known as a Swede saw or a Buck saw. Traditionally this bow saw is used as a wood working tool for making straight or curved cuts. It is a rough tool that is most commonly used for cross cutting branches, logs and trees down to a smaller size. The Rolson 58409 bow saw has been manufactured from steel with a rigid tubular bow for extra strength and durability. This bow saw has a sloped nose which allows for better access and manoeuvrability in areas where movement of the saw might be more restricted. It has been fitted with a hard point blade that can stay sharper than regular blades for longer and the teeth have been designed so that it cuts faster on the forward and backward strides of the bow. This blade has been mounted in a quick release lever tension mechanism, this makes changing the blades quicker and easier. The overall length of this bow is of 530mm which allows a longer cutting stroke. This bow saw has a good cutting performance and would be suitable for gardeners, builders, farmers and for DIY purposes.
