Johnsons Shady Place Lawn Seed is a top quality mixture specially formulated to produce an excellent lawn under shady conditions with good drought tolerance. A mixture of shade tolerant grasses will give the additional benefit of a top quality lawn which will maintain its appearance and colour in dry conditions.Shady Place suitability for semi and relatively dense shaded areas under trees and next to high walls and hedges. An ideal mixture for overseeding in Spring or Autumn. Species used for Hard Fescue, Strong and Slender Creeping Red Fescue, Brown top Bent.Additional requirements: To create and maintain a high quality lawn use an appropriate seedbed fertiliser before sowing. Once the lawn is established apply an appropriate lawn feed as required and overseed the lawn annually. Sowing dates: Sow between March and October. Young grass will appear within 14-21 days under good growing conditions. Sowing rates new lawn: 35 g per square metre (1-1/4 oz per square yard). Sowing rates overseeding: 25 g per square metre (3/4 oz per square yard). Mowing height new lawn: When grass is 5-8 cm (2-3 inches) high, cut for the first time. Trim lightly and gradually lower blades to an ideal cutting height of 13 mm (1/2 inches).
