The Chiltepin Tucson is also called Tepin, is the original type of many existing species of Capsicum Annuum.
It is a wild hot pepper that grows in parts of New Mexico, Arizona, Texas and Mexico, the largest cultivation of Chiltepin peppers is in North of Mexico.
The Chiltepin has small, round, upright growing red berries and only 3/8 inch wide. \"Tepin\" comes from the Aztec language whicn means \"flea\" because of its smallness.
The hot small berries are a bit longish and easy to dry.
